We are always given that which we need to heal. A Course in Miracles tells us that “Truth answers every call.” Today’s ACIM Lesson 357 is “Truth answers every call we make to God, responding first with miracles, and then returning unto us to be itself.” As I move through these lessons, the choice is more and more apparent. Do I want to be “right,” or do I want to be peaceful? Do I want conflict or serenity? As always, it is the choice between fear and love, the choice between illusion and truth. God is always present. Love is forever available. Do I want to live in the realm of joyful existence (Heaven) or do I want to remain in the hell that I made?
So this post, from last year’s (well really from last January) writing is, once again, the reminder to choose love. Choose it again and again until it is the most natural choice in the world. That’s what studying these lessons does for us. No wonder this training produces people who feel more peaceful.
I like solitude. I can be a sociable person and I like other people well enough, but I need quiet to be able to think and so I like solitude. Yet, studying A Course in Miracles, it becomes increasingly clear that I can’t follow this path alone. Today’s lesson is a remember of that. It says, “Behold his sinlessness, and be you healed.” “His sinlessness” refers to my brother/your brother/aka each other. The path to Heaven is via our brothers. Much as I would love to leave some people behind, that’s not how it works. “My brother is my savior. Let me not attack the savior You have given me. But let me honor him who bears Your Name, and so remember that It is my own.” In accepting the Atonement, I am recognizing our oneness, so the only way out is through. I can’t reject anyone else and find my own wholeness. The moment I have rejected anyone else, I have rejected myself. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
“Truth answers every call we make to God.” It shows us goodness when we are willing to see it. It shows us the love that God wraps us in when we are willing to accept.
Truth answers every call we make to God,
Responding first with miracles, and then
Returning unto us to be itself.
Forgiveness, truth’s reflection, tells me how to offer miracles, and thus escape the prison house in which I think I live. Your holy Son is pointed out to me, first in my brother; then in me. Your Voice instructs me patiently to hear Your Word, and give as I receive. And as I look upon Your Son today, I hear Your Voice instructing me to find the way to You, as You appointed that the way shall be:
“Behold his sinlessness, and be you healed.”

Truth answers every call.
That’s the thing about studying this stuff; as nice as it is to project out all the shit I dislike, by now I know, projection doesn’t get rid of it. “Giving it is how you keep it.” Truth answers every call because we are always given that which we need to heal. The answer is always love. The answer is always forgiveness. The answer is always the Atonement, Oneness.
Through forgiveness, we are restored to our right minds. Through forgiveness, the awareness of sinlessness is restored. Through forgiveness, we are freed. It is the way we escape the ‘prison house.” We made the prison house. “11 There is no one who does not feel that he is imprisoned in some way. If this is the result of his own free will he must regard his will as not free, or the circular reasoning in this position would be quite apparent. Free will must lead to freedom.”
The truth is we were always free. The truth is love was always here. The truth is God never abandoned His Son.
By learning to listen, the answer is heard. Truth answers every call and ultimately, we know when we are on the right track because love feels so much better than fear.
