Today’s ACIM lesson, #306, The gift of Christ is all I seek today , is the invitation to let go of ego’s version of the world and instead settle into all the God would have us experience. “Today I can go past all fear, and be restored to love and holiness and peace. “ I can do this every day, of course, but this lesson is the reminder that these things are not some goal to be attained in the future; they are what is already here and now, beneath the “blocks to the awareness of love’s presence.” Our Tuesday night group sometimes discusses this as if we have a lot of work to do before we can get there instead of realizing that we already have it all. There is only NOW. Our “problem” is that ego keeps telling us that we are separate and that what we want is in the future. It’s a trick to keep us from recognizing the truth because then we will stop listening to ego, which is exactly how we go past all fear and are restored to love and holiness and peace. From last year’s writing, written shortly after the election:
The gift of Christ is vision – it is the ability to see through the eyes of love, to see past appearances. It is the ability to see the real world and not the world of hatred and dissent. “Today I can forget the world I made. Today I can go past all fear, and be restored to love and holiness and peace.”
I choose love.
I have never had so many political discussions in my life. The nation appears divided. There is rioting in the streets. It appears as if it is a battle of good vs. evil, but we Course students know that evil requires a host. It is not a power unto itself and God is everywhere present.
So, the gift of Christ is all I seek today. It is the declaration that I will side with the Holy Spirit, not ego/fear/illusion. It is the recognition that despite appearances, we are all one. We all want the same thing in our heart of hearts. We all want peace and loving kindness. Even those who see it as their duty to eliminate the misguided have at their core a yearning for good. At least that is my belief.
The gift of Christ is all I seek today.
What but Christ’s vision would I use today, when it can offer me a day in which I see a world so like to Heaven that an ancient memory returns to me? Today I can forget the world I made. Today I can go past all fear, and be restored to love and holiness and peace. Today I am redeemed, and born anew into a world of mercy and of care; of loving kindness and the peace of God.
And so, our Father, we return to You, remembering we never went away; remembering Your holy gifts to us. In gratitude and thankfulness we come, with empty hands and open hearts and minds, asking but what You give. We cannot make an offering sufficient for Your Son. But in Your Love the gift of Christ is his.

The important thing to remember, in my estimation, is that we cannot become hypocrites. Ego tries desperately to disown that which it hates by projecting it outside of itself. But as soon as you place the problem outside of yourself, you have given away all your power. If it’s “out there” then you scramble to find a way to manipulate circumstances to conform to what you think it should be.
Choose again. Choose love. Forgive.
You are fighting God, which means denying yourself Heaven.
Last Tuesday, we were reading the Vision of Christ. It says, “You do not want the world. The only thing of value in it is whatever part of it you look upon with love. This gives it the only reality it will ever have. Its value is not in itself, but yours is in you. As self-value comes from self-extension, so does the perception of self-value come from the extension of loving thoughts outward. Make the world real unto yourself, for the real world is the gift of the Holy Spirit, and so it belongs to you.”
The gift of Christ is waking up to the real world. It is exchanging the nightmare for a happy dream. It is remembering who and what we are. What we all are. “7 What is one cannot be perceived as separate, and the denial of the separation is the reinstatement of knowledge. At the altar of God, the holy perception of God’s Son becomes so enlightened that light streams into it, and the spirit of God’s Son shines in the Mind of the Father and becomes one with it.”
The gift of Christ is all I seek today. Because, in the end, all I want is love. All I want is peace. All I really want is to know who I am and know who you are.
You are the Holy Son of God Himself, and so am I. So is everyone.
Namaste, my friends, Namaste.
